Honoring Our December and January Middle School Citizens of the Month

William G. Houston Middle School is proud to announce the Citizens of the Month for December 2025 and January 2026. These students were selected by their respective teams for demonstrating exceptional character, academic dedication, and a commitment to their school community.
December 2025 Honorees
Leland Adler (6th Grade – Team Evolution) Leland is a dedicated student whose favorite subject is English. Outside of the classroom, he is an avid sports fan and gamer. Above all, Leland values his family—especially his two sisters. He believes that strong communication is the most important trait for achieving continued success.
Rylee Arns (7th Grade – Team Gemini) Rylee excels in Science and stays busy outside of school with various sports, particularly soccer. An animal lover with a household full of pets, Rylee aspires to become a teacher in the future. Her recipe for success is simple but effective: stay focused and work hard.
Ethan Czyz (8th Grade – Team Gemini) Ethan finds his greatest interest in Social Studies and plans to continue his education at P-TECH to study welding. An enthusiast of hunting and fishing, Ethan draws inspiration from his dog, Chica. His personal philosophy for success is to never give up, no matter the challenge.
January 2026 Honorees
Emma Dusenbury (6th Grade – Team Unity) Emma’s creativity shines in Art class, her favorite subject. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors and with her friends. With a future goal of becoming a hairstylist, Emma believes that the most essential trait for success is a commitment to always being kind to others.
Keagan Stevens (7th Grade – Team Phoenix) Keagan is a talented artist who loves English and specializes in drawing and stop-motion animation. He hopes to turn this passion into a career as a professional animator. Keagan identifies endurance as the key characteristic that allows him to reach his goals.
Lucy LoDestro (8th Grade – Team Tradition) Lucy is a student-athlete who enjoys English, crafting, and finding ways to help those around her. While she is still exploring her future career options, she knows she wants to work in a field that serves others. She believes that determination and the refusal to quit are the foundations of success.
The Lake Shore Central School District congratulates these six students on their well-deserved recognition and thanks them for being such positive role models for their peers.
